Carports
Carports offer excellent protection for your vehicle when either an existing garage is full or is not viable. They offer protection from rain, hail and sun for your vehicle as well as for you when moving between house/car.
Carport fascias can be supplied in a variety of colours to blend in with existing decor. Our surveyors can advise you on the various options available. Because we make everyone to order our carports can be fitted around existing obstacles such as vents, pipes or other wall fixings. They can also be tapered or go round corners depending on what you want and the shape of the area you wish the carport to cover. Fitting a carport is far from straightforward and we do not supply DIY kits or any other options for self-fitting. Loads that can be imposed on your carport in high winds or by heavy snowfall can be considerable with the potential to cause significant structural damage if improperly installed. more ... Traditional Carports
The traditional carport is used due to structural limitations or where the client prefers this type of design. "I'm just after 4 legs and a lid' as a recent customer put it so concisely. The traditional carport can stand apart from an existing structure being totally self-supporting
Single pitch carports have a maximum projection of 10200mm (33' 4") far exceeding that capable by cantilever beams whose maximum projection is 3629mm (11' 9"). Traditional canopies can cover large areas as can be seen from the examples in our Commercial section and can also easily accommodate wider driveways for two cars, caravans or other vehicles. more ... Cantilever Carports
The cantilevered carport or canopy is a covered area without the need for poles or posts and no grounds works are required. The maximum projection from a wall for one of our cantilever carports is 3629mm (11' 9").
Most cantilevered canopies look similar, however they are significantly different. Customers buy carports & canopies of this design to have the benefit of a covered area without ground interruption. A dual pitched (back-to-back) system is available however with post support to provide a maximum projection of 7258mm (23' 8"). Customers often buy a carport or a canopy of this design due to the aesthetic appeal of its peaked roof. more ... Carports in Scotland
Scotland is a beautiful country which is regularly subjected to higher winds and heavier snowfalls than the rest of the UK. However as the winter of 2010 showed heavy snowfalls and gale force winds can hit any region of the UK.
Our carports are engineered to withstand the significant loads imposed by accumulation of snow and wind speeds from any passing storm no matter how unseasonal. What's more they have been put to the test on more than one occasion! more ... Carports in Wales
Since the companies early days we have covered all of mainland UK including Scotland and Wales.
By establishing a good working relationship with architects and planners we have built up solid and long standing associations with other companies in the building, council and home improvement services. This allowed us to establish a permanent base of operations in Cardiff in 2010. As work has continued to come in there are now two surveyors covering the Welsh area and GRP Canopies are probably the largest supplier and installer of canopies in Wales. more ...
