*Update 30th August 2011*
Hurricane Irene has battered the Carribean and left a trail of devastation up the East coast of America. Windspeeds exceeding 110mph have caused considerable damage and loss of life. We have this morning been informed by a client in the carribean that all the canopies supplied by GRP Canopies Plc have withstood the storm and suffered no damage whatsoever.
======================================================================================
The company recently installed a traditional style commercial canopy, 503 square metres in area, in the Bahamas. This canopy is designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 147mph which generates an uplift of over 300,000lbs! Your canopy needs to be tough if its going to withstand what a category C hurricane can throw at it. The resort where this was installed got in contact with the company as they had heard that GRP Canopies could provide a structure capable of meeting their needs. They were right.
These images relate to one of the worst storms the UK has seen in recent years. When it comes to manufacture, design and installation GRP Canopies are second to none. Our engineering team take into account wind and snow loading when we design your canopy. That way you can enjoy shade in the Summer assured that your canopy is built to withstand the Winter.
