Planning & Building Regulations

GRP Canopies are now in partnership with the local authority building control (LABC), which covers all of England and Wales. Where the surface area of the proposed structure is in excess planned view of 30 meters squared, there is a legal obligation for Building Regulations to be obtained from your Local Council. This is an obligation under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 which we are both required to comply. All structures that we install that require Building Regulations will require structural calculations.

If planning or building regulations are required for a school canopy or covered area, GRP Canopies can also undertake this for you offering a complete turnkey solution.

Canopy installations are carried out by our own fully trained staff.

Each canopy project is carried out under under BS EN ISO 9001:2008 which covers for the approved Quality Administration Systems, BS EN ISO 14001:2004 which covers for the approved Environmental Management Systems, and BSI OHSAS 18001:2007 which covers for the approved occupational Health & Safety Management Systems applying to the Design, Manufacture and Installation of Open Sided Structures.
